Emergency Disaster Relief
Problems Solved:
After months of planning, strategizing and designing firstresponseteam.org, unexpected national recognition and public awareness of the organization changed the site's creative course. A more "organizational" web look with flexibility for growth and up-to-date news coverage was needed immediately. Skylar's expertise in adaptability and forward thinking helped transform the site quickly to serve this compelling organization's ever-expanding online needs. The First Response Team of America is now positioned for media coverage, expansion and partnership.

Towing & Transport
Problems Solved:
T & G Transport shared that their previous website was hurting their marketing efforts. In fact, they intentionally did not share their web address with others because they were simply embarrassed by the overall presentation. After the project was finished, Skylar created a site that was unlike anything they had ever seen for towing/transport companies. The new site breaks down their services in a logical manner, something they never had with the previous site. In addition, the new site communicates the high regard they have for their customers and showcases their charitable work. Lastly, Skylar provided copy writing services to ensure the written presentation was clear to new and existing customers.

Professional Photography
Problems Solved:
Catwalk Photo's website was years in development in-house but, unfortunately, never completed. After potential clients requesting to see Catwalk's portfolio, the decision was made to make this project a priority and higher a professional company who could start and complete the project, and do it well. With so many professional photography services in the Long Island/NY area, Skylar was selected to take on this crucial task. The first issue that had to be addressed was the logo. With careful consideration of the typography used, the logo integrates the name of the company with the person (Ms. Karen Mahanna) behind Catwalk Photo, Inc. The second major challenge Skylar faced was highlighting Catwalk's services through a custom built photo gallery. Besides the overall design, we believe the new logo and custom image gallery give Catwalk Photo's a unique presence online.

Food Industry
Problems Solved:
Being in business for just a few years, In the Mood Coffee and Ice Cream needed to improve their overall marketing approach. Already spending quite a bit on print advertising, the web medium was the next area to target. Known for its homemade ice creams, people travel from all parts of Long Island just to savor the rich taste of In the Mood's products. The website communicates the various types of flavors they have, especially those in season, and their hours of operation. In addition, an online-only coupon is offered to those who download it and bring it into the store.

Higher Education
Problems Solved:
As one of the founding professors at Regent's School of Theology, Dr. Holman wanted a place where he could increase his "reaching ability" to those wanting access to him or his books/resources. Skylar approached the project by integrating images of the pristine campus with information about Dr. Holman's academic expertise and personal areas of interest. Note: We are saddened to hear of Dr. Holman's recent passing in 2006. In honor of his great contribution to the theology community at large, we've chosen to host his website off of Skylar's web server.

Health & Fitness
Problems Solved:
With the rise of Yoga Centers developing all over Long Island, Claire Jannuizzi knew she needed to increase her brand awareness within the Long Island/NYC community by developing a professional website. She accomplished that by developing her very first site website back in 2004 - Southold Yoga Center. Since then Claire has chosen to offer private yoga services for clients looking for those seeking hands-on training. Thankfully, Claire asked Skylar Design to develop a new site to match her new endeavor. The most recent website communicates her schedule, her specific yoga services, and her annual retreat to Mexico which she leads.

Accounting
Problems Solved:
Thinking they wanted a more formal presentation to their website, Zalk & Zalk immediately communicated to Skylar that they didn't want to look like every other CPA firm. They wanted a site that created a sense of peace, tranquility, and most of all, trust in their ability to provide professional accounting services. Thus, we considered colors, typography, and use of imagery to help evoke those feelings. In addition, we created a logo that identified the name of the company and underscored it with a simple tag line to clarify what services they provided.

Mobile Phone
Problems Solved:
xCellaSave has developed a technology which allows companies to advertise on cell phones. But one of the challenges they had with the previous website was that failed to effectively sell their product. In fact, if you went to the homepage of the previous xCellaSave website, you might think they sold ring tones. The cartoonish look didn't help sell their product either. Skylar re-branded the website to help better communicate what they offered and bring their product to market. In addition, the company wanted improved ranking within the search engines. Since the new site was launched, they've dramatically moved up in the search engines for targeted key phrases.

Executive Coaching
Problems Solved:
Having a targeted national audience, CACC came to Skylar desiring an online presence that was professional and elegant. With a huge demand for executive coaching and training on the rise, CACC didn't want to present themselves as just another coaching organization. Therefore, CACC commissioned Skylar to carefully design and develop a site that was distinct. The site appeals to those seeking professional coaches/trainees services, and provides professional coaching resources for those looking to further develop their mentoring skills. For trainees, a login area was also created so they could access these training resources. Phase II will focus on membership based services.
